Review Requests Not Sending
If the Requests tab in the Reputation dashboard shows no activity after appointments are completing, work through these checks in order.
Check 1: Is the Workflow Triggering?
In GHL, go to Automation → Workflows and find the review request workflow (it will be named something like "Review Request — Post-Appointment"). Click into it and look at the History tab.
- If there are recent entries with a Success or Active status, the workflow is firing correctly and the issue is downstream (SMS delivery).
- If the history is empty or only shows old entries, the trigger isn't firing.
Check 2: Is the Appointment Completing in GHL?
The workflow triggers on Appointment Status Changed → Completed. If appointments are tracked outside GHL (ServiceTitan, Jobber, phone bookings), the trigger won't fire because GHL doesn't know the appointment happened.
Fix: Appointments need to be booked and marked complete inside GHL's Calendars module, or synced via an integration. Contact TechForce to discuss your booking workflow.
Check 3: Is SMS Enabled?
Business SMS requires A2P 10DLC registration. If your account's SMS isn't yet approved or was suspended, messages won't send.
Check: In GHL, go to Settings → Phone Numbers. If you see a warning about SMS being suspended or pending, contact TechForce — this requires action on our end.
Check 4: Does the Contact Have the SMS Consent Tag?
The workflow checks that the contact has consented to receive SMS before sending. If the consent tag (sms-care-consent or similar) is missing on a contact, the workflow skips the SMS step.
Check: Open a contact who should have received a review request and look at their tags. If the consent tag is missing, the contact wasn't run through the consent collection step. Contact TechForce to investigate.
